1) Start with clean and dry nails. If you don’t want to damage them, make sure they are completely dry. If your nails are not dry enough, use an acetone-based nail polish remover.

2) Use a base coat. A base coat will help protect your nails from chipping and breaking when applying the design. You can use any brand of base coat, as long as it works well for you.

3) Apply a thin layer of acrylic paint onto your nails. Make sure to apply the paint in one direction only (i.e., horizontal).

4) Once you have applied the first layer of paint, wait until it dries completely. It may take up to 10 minutes depending on the thickness of the paint. After waiting for the paint to dry, start adding more layers of acrylic paint.

5) When you reach the desired level of complexity, let the design dry completely. Depending on how thick your paint is, it could take anywhere between 5-10 hours.

6) Remove all excess paint using a cotton swab dipped in acetone.

7) Finally, file off the edges of your nail if necessary.

8) Repeat steps 1 through 7 as many times as needed to achieve the desired look.

9) To remove the design, soak your nails in acetone for about 30 seconds.

10) Rinse your nails under warm water to remove the acetone.

11) Dry your nails thoroughly with a blowdryer.

12) Apply a top coat over the entire nail surface.

13) Wait for at least 6 hours before removing the topcoat.

14) Voila! Your new 3D  nail art is ready.
